Uthaman I do not understand why Mr TVM Ali is pessimistic at the ending of his story? The story should have ended with a successful background. This would encourage the readers to venture new areas. The writers should lead,encourage and motivate the readers. They should show the path of success to the Society.

Shaharban's happy ending would have made a positive note. Hope Mr Ali should think positively.

BaalagramangalThe article is excellent. However, the writer's concern seems to be for the children of upper class and upper middle class living in middle east or airconditioned flats in posh areas.

Majority of our children study in Govt. Schools and Govt. aided schools in the villages. They still enjoy the life in the natural settings, inspte of their poverty and lower living conditions.

I enjoyed the article. Though I live in a metro city, I was born and grown in a backward village.

i loved the first part -AnnuI loved the first part - it reminded me of my achool going. The second part was far-stretched. I remember the only time i covered my books with nice paper was inthe vacation - its was to look appealing for the second- hand buyers . Syllabus change was a nightmare for my parents as they could not re-use the elders books. :)

Freedom Struggle is Congress historyFreedom struggle as our kids know is from text books and thats largely a congress history centred around Gandhi. Thousands of fighters who revolted against the British Raj in every possbile way were a part of that struggle as well . Lot of peple who were actively involved in those movement never knew that they would be lablled as Congress inthe history.

Not only the contributions to freedom stuggle - openess to the cultures , Buddist heristage, oldest Christianity in the world, reformist movements- a lot of such things are becoming largely unknown to the younger generation. The govt takes no initiative in preserving the knowledge and every body in the govt is strugglign with the short-term tactical matters of running day to day affairs. -Venu
