I've to agree completely with Jayanth.The author of this article is completely ignorant about what's happening around the world and how people select their area of study/work etc....
People chose the branch of study based on the job opportunities....few decades before people were crazy of sending their kids to Engineering Colleges/Medical Colleges....Now that fascination got replaced by computers/Nursing becs of better pay/Easy Job and more living standards.....The author claims that no one respects Nursing profession in USA!!!!!Come and see 1000s of US people working in Hospitals here...The shortage for Nurses in USA is becs it's very tough to get a nursing degree here and also it's expensive...Only less people can afford it.
