RE:To Parayil

RE:To Parayil

Parayil Said: You are not Communist,Christian,Hindu,Muslim,Man,Women and you don't belive anything in this world which you haven't seen and feel and experince......

XYZ: Ad hominem comments and I never said I dont take any thing to account without seeing or experiencing.

Parayil Said: Who cares?Forget about Bible

XYZ: I care about the truth and I think the discussion is about religious fundamentalism.

Parayil Said: ....there are many other books in this world which cannot be proven who wrote it and when it was written and what was the basis of them...

XYZ: May be. But what is your point?

Parayil Said: Not only books but many things like countries, food, race, people which were in History....So who wants to prove you all these things?

XYZ: When you say it is in the history, I assume that it is from a reliable, unbiased source. Then that itself is evidence.

Parayil Said: You belive or not who cares?Let others belive....

XYZ: I think you are confused. I am not questioning peoples right to believe in something. I respect their rights. But why dont people just keep their personal believes to themselves? Why are they trying to impose it on the society? I become defensive when people say the curriculum needs to be modified to make it compatible with their personal believes.

Believe me; personally I am of your same opinion. The text book is a communist propaganda. It needs to be changed. What they did was a cherry picking, include only the topics which are compatible with communist ideas and exclude the rest. But I dont think the religious people are making noises for the right thing. What they claim is, there is some anti-religious topics in the book, but in reality not. But anti-freedom topics are there.

Parayil Said: In this world we are forced to belive many things which cannot be proven...

XYZ: Like what? I agree that there are lots of things which are not yet proven or we do not know yet. But in that case we remain skeptical. We dont jump in to conclusion.

Parayil Said: After few generations who can prove that you existed in this world and who were your parents?

XYZ: If I really want to make somebody to believe I existed, after long period of time, definitely I have to leave some evidences, like photos, videos, physical/biological evidences, writings, some body elses writing on me (reliable) or some kind of records. How can you expect your future generation to know that a person X had existed without any evidences?

Truly I dont know who my great great grant parents were. If I really want to know I have to do some research. If I dont get any reliable evidences I will say yes, they were existed (because we know the around time when man kind started) but I dont know who they are. That is the correct and honest answer.

Parayil Said: So let others belive what they think is correct and true.

XYZ: I agree with you. I respect peoples right to believe in anything they want.

Parayil Said: At least Bible and other epics are not asking people for Violence and Crimes. So I prefer to belive those books rather than thses kind of idiotic creatures.

XYZ: Not really true. Check the below verse from Deuteronomy 13:6-12. You can find more versus like this from the Old Testament.

6 If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or your daughter or the wife you embrace or your friend who is as your own soul entices you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known, 7 some of the gods of the peoples who are around you, whether near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth to the other, 8 you shall not yield to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him, nor shall you conceal him. 9 But you shall kill him. Your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. 10 You shall stone him to death with stones, because he sought to draw you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 11 And all Israel shall hear and fear and never again do any such wickedness as this among you.

So if somebody suggests a different god than yours, you should kill him?
I am not claiming that any of the modern Christians are following this. I want to show that your claim is not correct.
