I totally agree with ജിതേഷ്, Seattle, US here.
He is making sense.If it is the number of years of history makes a culture best, then Africans will have the best culture in the world. Humans evolved from Africa millions of years ago.
Remember US/Europeans may have started their culture late.But they have moved far than us by accepting new good ideas and rejecting bad.We are very slow in this process.
The problem arises when we compare other cultures with our culture. Generally we tend to believe that our culture is the best just because we are used to it. We have to think out of the box to compare cultures or any other things.
In order to evaluate anything, we need a set of parameters.When I evaluate a culture, I look mainly for the below parameters.
1.Freedom of the people.
2.Security of the people in the society.
3.Freedom of speech.
4.Gender/Race/Belief equality.
5.Respect towards others.
6.Social awareness.
7.Openmindness of the people.
8.Tolerence towards others and their believes.
9.Arts/Science/Sports
10.Respect towards others rights.
And many more which I may have missed.
So I just disagree with the author:-)
