Really really FantasticThe most provocating literary review column in malayalam no doubt is mirror scan. It has the integrity of fearless criticism. I go through the previous chapters and feel that everyone, they may be big icons/idiols/veterans should be treated only on the merit of their creative stuff. This is an important quality of criticism. Mr Sasidharan never look the face or fame of anyone before him. He only go through the stuff in them. So a most recognised writer must be treated mercilessly. New piece Manorama gene is sharp and sincere. I never read such a intelligent piece which clearly unmask the dubious relationship between cultural journalism and market. The term Manoram Gene is correct. As he says this gene culture attack our magazine culture in deapth. Hence they becoming "PAINKILIS". But now the main sponcer of this gene is Mathrubhoomi weekly itself. The new Mathrubhoomi weekly capture the market with superficial/sentimental/light/melodramatic bio stories. They focuss them as the untold stories of downtrodden people, but they are real mimic of former Mangalam type features. We can see the Mangalam also focuss such peoples earlier. But only the difference is that Mangalam writers have not an intelligent language and pseudo expressions. they express them with as real as they saw and heard. V.K Sreeraman/Thaha Madayi class of writers are really PAINKILIS who clearly follow same pattern of Mangalam culture with psuedo language. This class of writers really hijack the serious political and cultural content of Mathrubhoomi Weekly. Only because of market success the weekly give them enormous space for these superficial idiots. They give an unpolitical base to every life and theme by expressing them as well written feature stories. Mirror Scan is only column which boldly unmask the marketization of magazine content.
