In my life I will never buy Anand�s book. When I read this story of Dr.E.Sandya, I felt like writer tried to become a Intellectual writer like Anand. One thing writers must ask yourself "why you are writing stories?" if you are writing for readers please show some humanity.
I am not tarnishing this writer. But every one should remember this.

I have a message to the future commentators and the authors. I am saddened to see the stooping levels of insinuation thrown in a forum which is supposed to discuss LITERATURE . Please comment with dignity. I deeply share the anguish caused to the author of this work. I am aware that an author, like a mother is equally fond of all her children. A mature commentator points out where exactly the child�s performance fell below expectations, without personal remarks and keeping aside his personal equation with the author. I am also confident that this author has an inherent strength and will power to get back with stories like �Padikal kayarunna penkutti� that will continue to enrich our literature. By that single stroke she has already sounded an alarm bell before the Malayali society which is fast sinking into anarchy with commoditization of woman, consumerism and criminalization. Please don�t kill the messenger.

By publishing in a web magazine, an author is exposing himself/herself to instant response from the readers who have varied tastes and level of appreciation. Please gather the mental strength to receive brickbats and bouquets.

No stone throwing The author is a friend for nearly 25 years and I respect her for her writing skills. I strongly believe she has the potential to enrich the Malayalam story scene. Here, as a commentator, I had to keep aside the personal bias brutally and write honestly what I felt. In spite of her efforts to go inside the heart of the female character, this particular story didn�t impress me because of the too artificial language, absence of a �story� and the diary format. An Author writes and the Reader selects. Both have their individual freedom. There was no stone throwing by me, just holding a mirror. My best wishes to her in future writing.

കഥ വിരസമായാല്‍ സുല്‍ത്തന്‍റെ മൂര്‍ച്ചയേറിയ വാള്‍ കഴുത്തില്‍‍ വീഴുമെന്ന വിചാരത്തോടെ കഥ പറഞ്ഞ് 'ആയിരത്തൊന്ന് രാവുകള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കി തന്റെ ജീവനും സാഹോദരിയു!! 59;െ ജീവനും രക്ഷിച്ച ഷെഹര്‍സാദമാരെയാണു ഇപ്പോഴും ആവശ്യം. ശ്രദ്ധ ചിതറിപ്പോകാന്‍ അത്രമാത്രം കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ നിത്യജീവിതത്തിലുള്ളപ്പോള്‍ വായനക്കാരനെ കൈയ്യിലെടുക്കാŐ! 8;്‍ ഇത്തരം '&! #3378;ോ മാജിക്കുകള്‍ക്കൊന്നും കഴിയില്ല. വെറുതെ സമയം(അതു ധാരാളമുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക്) കളയാമെന്നു മാത്രം!

Magic is missingThe author makes a bold attempt to portray the confused state of mind of a woman who is past her middle age and is in love with a man who is much younger to her. The drug like effect of such a relation on the female protagonist is presented; the sense of elation and fulfillment on the one hand and the sense of guilt and her inability to extricate from its clutches on the other. However, in the absence of a story line, this work reads neither like a poem nor like a story. The format chosen by the author is a first person account like an entry in a personal diary. This failed to convey the magical effect of the relation which she intended to present. A climb down for an author who showed promise through her recent stories in this website.
