Yeah, snow comes as late as the last half of Dec in most parts of Italy and lasts only a few weeks. In Rome one never gets the true feeling of winter. In comparing Nov to Dec I was just responding to what the author said in the article: what reflects the real situation here will be comparing 'ashen days' to 'white days'(that was my point). Ashen days are boring; should get you the feel of going for kamandalu...
Anyway that comment NEED NOT BE the topic of discussion under a so well written article :).
