The music reality shows are became an integral part of indian telvision channels. Actually these programmes are copied format of original american idol contest.

In the present market scenario of entertainment television channels, the competetion became so stiffer and total advertisement revenue are distributing among various channels as per TRP of their programmes hence the share of revenue are shrinking to that level where the profitability and the survival of the channes are in question mark.

As a new model for revenue generation, channels are trying this musical reality show with the co operation of telecom comapnies. The revenue generated are shared beteween producer and telcos on a predetermined basis. The mass SMS of public generates a huge amount to the telcos as revenue. "With one shot two birds".

In free market economy this kind of models are always keep their place to acheive the desired profitability of the organisations. The shows always engineered in that way to generate maximum viewership and in that maximum income level for the cos. Here the format designed such way to exploit the sentiments/emotion/national/state/area pride of the participant. The show is, claimed the organisers, is 100% pure in democratic way and may be the talented participant may go out without adequate votes.
In the above mentioned scenario people are advised to make rational decision before puting the huge SMSes for their favourite participant.

In free market economy this kind of innovations always come and go...people have to be aware about the "commercial interst" of the producer before making emotional "voting".
