I was wondering about the so called "kalippu" against "U S" pravasi malayalees by other "pravasi" malayalees. Assuming that majority of the Puzha readers are "pravasi" malayalees.

Let us examine where culture today is standing in Kerala. Onam is celebrated more by the TV channels, and less by the people. Everyone in Kerala has moved over to bread for breakfast and Chapathis for dinner and Sunflower oil for cooking. Kathakali, and Mohiniyattam are surviving because of a few foreign tourists. The only two "cultural institutions" that are really thriving in Kerala are, "Josco jewellers" and "kanadi kuttichathan madham".
Come on guys, the world outside you has shrunk so much (perhaps much more than even your mind and thinking). So, cultural bashing and cultural hatred are no more considered to be nice traits. No culture becomes extremely good, just because you were born in it.
Ofcourse, Indian society is good in it's own ways. But, that doesn't mean that you have the right to insult an American by saying his culture is inferior to yours.
It just indicates that you seriously lack tolerance and respect to your fellow human beings. Time to rethink..!!!
