A very good articleThe article highlights the double standards shown by authors, publishers and activists while dealing with the subject of female sexuality and sexual exploitation. On one side are the women authors who have gathered the courage to write about their genuine sufferings either at their homes or in their profession. Their writings, irrespective of the literary value, serve the purpose of attracting the societys attention on the goings on within the walls of the establishments where they suffered in silence. On the other side are women authors who try to gain fame and monetary benefits through their writings on sexuality which are a clever mix up of facts and fantasy. One of our famous authors was forced to maintain an ambivalent stand on the authenticity of the incidents described in her controversial work which brought her fame, all through the rest of her life and in the process had often suffered emotional breakd! owns in spite her later, mature, brilliant writings. In either case sex sells.
