An excellent portrayal of the mind of a woman who was forced to enter into an agreement for life long sharing of her body with four men besides her husband whom she loves so deeply. The author looks at the circumstances which led to this arrangement from the point of view of all the key persons. The devious calculations of Yudhishtara, the lustful ways of mighty Bheema, the opportunists in Nakula and Sahadeva and Arjuna�s vulnerability in spite of his unfathomable love to Draupadi. All these come alive through the mature narrative of the author. The decision by Kunthi needs to be seen as a shrewd mother�s pragmatic move to keep her powerful sons together to win the ultimate war against the evil forces.
