Amassing of wealth by the powerful, often at the cost of the powerless has been an integral part of our history. Most of those who are not corrupt are those who haven't got any power to wield. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.The independent India�s democratic institutions have only helped to institutionalize corruption. For not doing a job we are forced to pay nokku kooli, for doing a work which someone is supposed do as part of his duties we are often forced to pay a bribe, for doing a work quickly we are happy to pay bribe. For doing a work favoring us at the cost of someone else many of us are ready to pay bribe.
Let us face the truth. We are a nation of the corrupt for the corrupt by the corrupt. Corruption wont go away unless the change begins from within.
