A very good attempt to make a social commentary on the mindset of the oppressed, who in spite of being on the receiving end, remain servile and sing paeans on the oppressor.
By the way, the comment on the author�s profession bodes a parochial mindset. Every profession carries dignity and deserves respect as long as it serves the society. The previous generation of readers did not take into consideration the educational background of Kesavdev who was a school drop out or the profession of Parappurathu who was a soldier while appreciating their literary works.
