I think the story ends reminding the readers about the sin for transgression of the seventh commandment. The author had shown her strength and ability in delineating the details of the life of the characters in the story which may open avenues of thought to freedom in the minds of the readers. But the author is indirectly hints the value of relationship in life. To the eyes of society Jankai is a keep (mistress) and I think there is no male equivalent for "keep" and Balachandran may be termed as cavalier servente. Believing in the motto carpe diem (seize the day) is what people now long to follow. But there will be an end and who knows what that end will be. Think of Janaki and her life thereafter. Very touching and well written story. Congratulations Rini Mambalam ! Best regards, Sudhir Panikkaveetil
