Janaki's battle

Janaki's battle
Janaki represents hundreds of thousands of women who stays in an unhappy marriage for their children's sake. She starts her life only after Sanjay leaves home for college. Even then she is hoping that the son would understand. I think the author is successful in portrying the inner struggles that Janaki is going through while she break the mold. She was just starting to experience the joy as Sanjay comes around and starting to accept the relationship between Janaki and Balachandran. It was heart breaking to read the end. I , personally would have preferred to see a "happily everafter" with her son. Congratulations to Reeni Mambalam
