Bindu R Thampy's anthology of poems entitled 'Sanjivani' is a commendable exercise in the art of poetic composition.The title 'Sanjivani' is very apt, pregnant as it is with layers of meanings.In popular mythology 'Sanjivani' is a panacea potent enough to confer immortality on the user.The poetess means that her poetry can be a therapy for sick and ailing souls.As in her poem 'Porul'a note of robust optimism enlivens her poetic visions besides lending a new verve to her poetic diction.
Bindu has mastered the art of making silence speak and a reader can listen to unheard melodies in her poem.Time is a recurring theme in her poems.In 'Purappad' she says that a poem is an arrow shot from the present to infinity.Chiseled words and felicitous phrases that abound in her poems make the reading of her poetry a rewarding and fruitful experience.There is no gainsaying the fact that the full blossoming of creativity will make Bindu an accomplished poetess.
